Emergency medicine is a medical field for providing emergency treatment for acute diseases, physical impairments, and sudden and unexpected accidents. The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Korea Cancer Center Hospital has established a cooperative treatment system for patients to receive healthcare and hospitalization stably by providing swift, accurate healthcare service.
In particular, at the Korea Cancer Center Hospital as a hospital specializing in the treatment of cancer patients, professional medical staff are working together organically in order to respond effectively to emergency situations of cancer patients; thus helping them receive treatment and regain stability swiftly.
Sharing the hospital’s 60-year history, the emergency room underwent extensive environmental improvement in 2019 with a goal of providing the best emergency medical service to patients. In 2020, with emergency medical specialists stationed, the emergency room started providing comprehensive treatment service. It is managed and operated in such a way that fast medical care is provided considering patients’ symptoms and emergency situations.
