Urology

The Department of Urology diagnoses and treats diseases occurring in the urinary system (kidney, ureter, bladder, urethra), reproductive organs (prostate, testicle, penis), adrenal glands, and retroperitoneum.

Urology is a surgical specialization that deals with the male and female urinary system and adrenal glands as well as male reproductive organ.

The urinary system consists of the kidneys, ureters, bladders, and urethra, which perform functions of generating, transporting, and excreting urine.

The male reproductive organ consists of the testicles, epididymis, seminal duct, ejaculatory duct, scrota, penis, prostates, and seminal vesicles.

Urology is divided into the sub-fields of urological oncology, male medicine, pediatric urology, female urology, dysuria, and endourology. These fields are developing rapidly in line with modern medical advancement.
